Dr. Zaida Morante is a medical oncologist at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) in Lima, Peru, and at Oncosalud – AUNA. She graduated from Universidad San Martin de Porres and completed her medical Oncology Residency at INEN in 2014, one of Peru’s leading cancer centers.
Dr. Morante currently serves as the Academic Coordinator of the Peruvian Society of Mastology (SPM) and is an active member of national and international scientific societies, including the Peruvian Society of Medical Oncology (SPOM), the Peruvian Society of Cancerology (SPC), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
Her clinical research focuses on real-world evidence, therapeutic optimization, and the management of early and advanced breast cancer, as well as genitourinary malignancies, She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between clinical trial data and local practice to improve outcomes in resource-limited settings. She is also part of the GECOPERU research group, contributing to collaborative cancer research initiatives in Peru.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Morante is committed to academic development and regularly leads educational initiatives and multidisciplinary courses for oncology residents and early-career physicians in Peru.
