Elissa Price, MD
, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF. She is the Director of Clinical Operations in Breast Imaging and the Breast Imaging Fellowship Program Director.
Dr. Price holds the coveted position of Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging. She sits on multiple national committees for the American College of Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, and the Society of Breast Imaging. She speaks extensively at national and international meetings, at CME courses, as well as at Visiting Professorships.
Dr. Price is heavily involved with local, regional and national clinical studies. She was the grant-supported central radiologist for the multi-institutional CALGB 40903 trial on the use of pre-operative medical therapy and breast MRI in women with in situ breast cancer. She has also received grant support for local projects related to breast MRI, and for the development of patient educational resources.
Dr. Price is committed to training future physicians. In addition to being the Breast Imaging Fellowship Program Director, she is the Medical Student Education Coordinator for Breast Imaging. She previously received a Minagi Chair Award from the Department of Radiology to support her development of educational programs, and in 2015, she received the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Price obtained her medical degree and received the Gold Medal from the University of Toronto Medical School in 2004. She completed her radiology residency at the University of Toronto Medical School in 2009, followed by a fellowship in Breast and Body Imaging at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2010.
