Dr Amit Agrawal MS, DM, FRCS
graduated from the University of Calcutta, India followed by Academic Surgical training and research at the University of Nottingham, UK. Subsequently, he moved to Cambridge University Hospitals, UK as Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon where he transformed the Breast Unit into an Oncoplastic Unit by introducing Breast-Surgeon led advanced Oncoplastic Breast conservations and reconstructions besides being Lead for Breast surgical quality control.
He is a committee member of the UK Association of Breast Surgery, member of British Breast Group and European Society of Surgical Oncology. He has been an Expert Reviewer for the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE). He is founder-director of the Cambridge chest wall perforator flap and implant dissection course. He is also Faculty and Examiner for MSc and MS degrees in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, University of East Anglia, UK.
Dr Agrawal has 100+ publications and presentations following on from lab-based research in endocrine therapy in Breast Cancer (focussing on resistance mechanisms following Fulvestrant therapy) and Oncoplastic surgery. During Academic Clinical Lectureship in Breast Surgery, University of Nottingham, he was Co-investigator in multiple clinical trials (including Atac, Efect, First, Poetic, Zofast, Faslodex 57/003) and currently in NeoRT, Marginprobe, Posnoc, Loris trials etc. In addition, he is an editorial board member and/or reviewer for several journals such as Gland Surgery, Clinical Breast Cancer, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment etc.
